nnCron es un planificador avanzado, herramienta de scripting y automatizador. También tiene un planificador tradicional que inicia programas, manda avisos, abre documentos en horario. nnCron también puede:
- Empezar cualquier programa como un servicio

nnCron se pude usar como un monitor de eventos: pude vigilar archivos, flags, ventanas, proceso, el mouse, periodos de inactividad, atajos del teclado, contactarse, presencia de un diskette, presencia de un host en red (ping), espacio de disco libre, etc.
nnCron entiende el formato "cron table" de (Unix) y se maneja editando a el archivo cron.tab. sin embargo si usted prefiere un entorno gráfico nnCron lo tiene y usted puede usarlo par quitar, agregar, editar, iniciar, avisar y cambiar preferencias de programas.
