ViPNet[Safe Disk] bietet Ihnen Echtzeitverschlüsselung (??on-the fly??) für Ihr Notebook oder Ihren Desktop-PC. Während des Arbeitsprozesses erstellt das Programm Dateien, so genannte ??Container?, deren Grö?e durch den Benutzer festgelegt werden. Diese Container werden als gewöhnliche logische Laufwerke in Windows eingebunden und im Windows-Explorer angezeigt. Beim Erstellen des Containers wird ein Passwort festgelegt. Nach erfolgreicher Authentifizierung mit diesem Passwort kann der Benutzer Dateien auf diesen Container kopieren, erstellen, lesen, verändern, verschieben oder löschen, wie auf einem normalen Speichermedium. Die Besonderheit besteht darin, dass [SafeDisk] als ein zusätzliches Laufwerk von Windows empfunden wird, und somit kompatibel mit fast allen Office-Anwendungen ist.
Sämtliche Informationen, welche der Benutzer auf diesem Laufwerk ablegt sind verschlüsselt. Wird die Information gelesen, wird sie automatisch auch entschlüsselt, beim Speichern wiederum verschlüsselt. Dieser Ablauf ist absolut transparent für den Benutzer und die betroffenen Anwendungen.

- 256-bit starke Datenverschlüsselung mit AES-Algorythmus garantiert nicht nur verlässliche und verschlüsselte Speicherung von Daten, vielmehr ist das System unsichtbar für den PC-Benutzer, wenn es nicht aktiviert ist.
