Vypress Messenger ist ein Programm zum Echtzeit-Versenden von Textnachrichten mit Anhängen von einem Computer an einen oder mehrere andere Computer, ohne dass zusätzliche Server erforderlich sind. Das Programm unterstützt mehrere Nachrichten Übertragungs Protokolle, einschließlich seines eigenen Protokolls, zur garantierten Auslieferung von direkten Nachrichten unter Verwendung eines TCP Protokolls, und einer Multi-Adress-Dateiverteilung, unter Verwendung von UPD und IP Multicast. Außerdem unterstützt das Programm ein Standart SMB Protokoll (für Kompatibilität mit WinPopup, `net send´ und Unix Samba) und einer Mail Massenverteilung über SMTP Protokoll, sowie zum Empfang von neuen Nachrichten über POP3/IMAP Protokolle.
Der Hauptvorteil des Programms is seine Fehlertoleranz und Unabhängigkeit von der Netzwerkstruktur. Vypress Messenger wurde ursprünglich für LAN entworfen und optimiert. Es nutzt keine Staging Server und kann somit Nachrichten auch dann senden und empfangen, wenn alle Server des Unternehmens wegen Störung oder wegen eines externen Angriffs außer Betrieb sind. Vypress Messenger kann das Netzwerk automatisch skannen, um Computeradressen zu finden und erlaubt auch Adressen von einen örtlichen oder zentralisierten Adressbuch zu beziehen, oder manuell IP Adressen oder SubNetz Adressen zur Mailverteilung einzugeben. In besonderen Fällen bietet das Programm die Möglichkeit, Nachrichten mit hoher Priorität zu senden und Makros zum Versend von vorverfassten Nachrichten mit nur einem Mausklick zu verschicken.
Das Programm beinhaltet auch fortgeschrittene Methoden der Nachrichtenaufzeichnung und Suche, und verfügt über eine mehrsprachige Benutzeroberfläche (Englisch, Spanisch, Deutsch, Russisch und Französisch) und viele andere nützlich Funktionen.
