WordConvs e' un sistema flessibile ed efficiente per la conversione e la formattazione di testi che usa i convertitori di testo inclusi in Microsoft Word 8 e successivi per la conversione di documenti scritti da diversi word processor. Inoltre il programma permette di cambiare le impostazioni dei documenti, come la larghezza e la altezza della pagina, i margini ecc., ossia la maggior parte dei parametri utilizzati da MsWord. E' possibile, pertanto, standardizzare in un'unica operazione una serie di documenti originariamente generati utilizzando parametri differenti. Pronto per l'uso con Word 2007 che permette in piu' la conversione in PDF.
Con il programma esterno OdfConverterTest.exe (vedi http://odf-converter.sourceforge.net/) e' possibile convertire documenti Open Office (.odt) in documenti MS Word. L'uso con programmi esterni puo' essere utile anche quando il convertitore non ha un meccanismo di segnalazione degli errori nei file di input, come succede in certi casi in cui il convertitore in caso di errori nel file di input tronca la conversione senza dare alcun tipo di segnalazione. Nell'elaborazione di un numero notevole di documenti questo puo' essere pericoloso, poiche' si puo' supporre di avere i risultati corretti, mentre ci possono essere dei documenti che sono stati troncati (solamente parzialmente convertiti). Per testare, anche se non in modo sicuro, questa evenienza e' stato inserito un programma che conta le parole, le linee, i caratteri del documento originale. Dato che MSWord ha al suo interno la possibilita' di contarli nel documento elaborato, risulta possibile confrontare questi contatori. I contatori per il documento originale sono solo una grezza approssimazione, in quanto solo gestendo la formattazione del documento originale e' possibile avere un buon conteggio. Per questo motivo e' stata prevista la possibilita' d'impostare una soglia percentuale, sulla differenza dei contatori, superata la quale il programma fornisce una segnalazione.
